Men Find Childcare Boring?
According to new research and books, the idea that men are cutting back on work and help their partners with childcare is just a myth.
Are men seriously afraid of childcare? Do they feel bore and disgusting?
Men say "Its really lovely taking care of new born child but it is also boring, disgusting and it results in career, financial and life sacrifices. Few fathers would fess up to this in front of their wives but, in private the main topic of conversation among themselves is the steep horror of having to look after babies.
Is it really true that women end up shouldering more of the parenting burden simply because the like it more?
Fatherhood is a noble endeavor. Fathers should protect their children, teach them by both word and deed. But a very small percentage of fathers bear the brunt of the housework and childcare in their home. Mothers spend about twice as much time with their children as dads do.
Today's generation of fathers is expected to be involved in housework and child care and it may be true that fathers are more involved in their children's day to day lives than ever before, but it's also true that women still take the lead and primary role when it comes to child care responsibilities.
A good rule of thumb for parents is that "we are each 50% responsible for childcare"
Men should not be only career and money earners but should also be a part of raising children. If you look at the work load, moms and dads are pretty even. So, maintaining the multitasking jobs at work and home can wipe out the feeling that fathers are not responsible for childcare.
